Hospitals Welcome Ballinger Equine Referrals

Susanna Ballinger - Ballinger Equine

Hertfordshire’s newest equine veterinary practice is pleased to confirm (5 October 2017) that the region’s referral centres and hospitals have all welcomed its referrals. An independent practice, Ballinger Equine works with top consulting veterinary specialists and experts and refers clients’ horses and ponies to the best and most appropriate treatment centres.

Referring to the best specialist resource for equine care and client preference

Commenting on today’s announcement, Dr Susanna Ballinger, Ballinger Equine’s veterinary director said:

“We are thrilled that the region’s treatment centres are enthusiastically welcoming our referrals. I personally have many years’ experience of working closely with professional colleagues at equine hospitals and it is super to continue our very effective working relationships”.

Susanna added: “It’s important for clients to know that we can refer to any of the region’s hospitals and treatment centres. We are an independent practice and our referral recommendations are always in the best interest of the horse or pony we’re treating.”

Ballinger Equine is equipped with the latest hi-tech diagnostic and imaging equipment for accurate on-site diagnosis which means effective, targeted treatment can commence immediately. The practice prides itself on undertaking a comprehensive range of procedures and investigations wherever the horse is based. However, on occasion, it is important to refer a horse or pony to a specialist centre. This might typically be for surgery, diagnostics including MRI, CT and gamma scintigraphy, or a second opinion.

Ballinger Equine works with all the local referral centres and hospitals, ensuring access to the most appropriate centre for a horse’s requirements and the client’s own preference. Centres include Newmarket Equine Hospital, Royal Veterinary College, Animal Health Trust, Rossdales Equine Hospital and University of Cambridge. Referrals may also be made to centres further afield such as Liphook Equine Hospital. Seamless liaison and long-standing professional relationships with veterinary surgeons at these establishments ensures effective communication and continuity of care for the client and horse or pony.

Ballinger Equine is now accepting registrations from new clients. Registrations may be made online direct at ballingerequine.com. Registration forms may also be downloaded from the website for completion and applications may be made by phone to the practice office on 01462 414008.
