Precautions Against COVID-19

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Ballinger Equine is continuing to provide its complete range of veterinary healthcare services during the current outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We are well versed in effective bio-security and you may notice us taking some additional best-practice precautions to safeguard the health of our clients and our veterinary surgeons.

Sensible measures to help limit the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

In accordance with guidance issued by the UK government and Public Health England our veterinary surgeons are taking sensible precautionary measures when they are out on their visits. They will be sanitising their hands more frequently than usual and you may see them cleaning the truck door handles and steering wheel.

Please do not take offence if our veterinary surgeons do not offer to shake hands at a visit, or decline the kind and usually welcome offer of a hot drink. All our staff have instructions to minimise contact where possible to limit the spread of COVID-19. These straightforward additional measures will help safeguard our clients’ health as well as their own.

Uninterrupted provision of veterinary care for your horse

Should you believe you are experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus such as a new persistent dry cough, a high temperature and a shortness of breath; or you are currently self-isolating or believe you may be at risk of infection, please be sure to inform the office when you telephone to schedule your visit. Our veterinary surgeons will be advised and can take additional precautions as necessary. But don’t worry, we will continue to visit and provide the best care possible for your horse or pony.

Visitors to our practice offices may also notice additional precautions being taken to limit the spread of COVID-19, otherwise we are continuing to provide our full range of services.
