Jenny Hawkes set for Season Finale

Ballinger Equine Ambassador, Jenny Hawkes

Jenny Hawkes, Ballinger Equine Ambassador and eventer, is set to crown her successful 2019 season by competing at Gatcombe International Horse Trials in her first FEI 2* event. Jenny will be competing on Jo Clarke’s Frankly.

Ballinger Equine Ambassador’s winning season

Jenny has been riding Frankly, a 17.1hh gentle giant on loan from Jo Clarke, throughout the 2019 season.

Jenny said today: “Frankly and I have been competing together since the end of April, progressing in that short time from BE90 to our first FEI 2* event at Gatcombe International on 13 to 15 September. We’ve had 6 runs this season, and 4 top ten placings, including a win at our first shot at 105. This has to be a highlight of our season, along with coming in the top 10 at only our second ever novice, at Chilham Castle. He’s a wonderful ride and inspires so much confidence.”

“I’m now looking forward to heading to Gatcombe for our first 2* and I have to thank the fantastic Frankly for making my dreams come true. Dressage is my Achilles heel and I’ve been practicing a great deal as the test is by far the hardest I will have ridden. After Gatcombe, I will be saying a fond farewell to Frankly who is returning to Jo Clarke at Tunley Equestrian Centre near Bath, and I’m off to study Equine Business at Hartpury College.”

Jenny Hawkes is one of four Ballinger Equine Ambassadors, all of whom compete and all champion the Ballinger Equine commitment to integrity and excellence.
