Operating a comprehensive emergency and out-of-hours service with our own clinical team
Unlike many other ambulatory veterinary practices, we do not contract-out our emergency and out-of-hours service, nor do we use other practices or locums to provide bank-holiday, weekend or night cover. Our own clinicians are on duty around the clock every day of the year, meaning you can be confident of seamless continuity of care for your horse or pony in an emergency, when it matters most. In addition to the on-call duty veterinary surgeon, the practice clinical director and managing director provide 24/7 support.
Our emergency veterinary surgeon already knows you and your horse
The veterinary surgeon who answers your emergency call will, in all likelihood, already know you, your horse or pony and have immediate access to a complete clinical history. At Ballinger Equine we are proud of the personal service we provide. We ensure our clinical team liaise closely with continuing cases meaning everybody on the team is up-to-date with all our patients and any on-going treatment.
Emergency referral to the most appropriate hospital or the one you choose
All the region’s equine referral centres and hospitals are happy to accept referrals from Ballinger Equine. Typically our attending veterinary surgeon will recommend the most suitable referral centre on a case-by-case basis, and may defer to the client’s own preference.
Our online dispensary is always open
The Ballinger Equine online dispensary service is operating normally and all online orders are being delivered as usual, subject to the current industrial action and delays with Royal Mail. Orders placed during the August bank-holiday weekend will be processed immediately the office opens after the date the order is placed.
New client registrations, appointment requests, emailed general enquiries and non-urgent voicemail messages will all be attended to during office open hours, Monday to Friday 0830hrs to 1700hrs except bank-holidays.
